Knowing where things are saves real time in GTA Online — the nearest Ammu-Nation before a heist, the closest mod shop, or which corner of the map a business sits on before you drop millions on it. This guide is the companion to the free interactive locations map, which plots every shop, business, property and landmark at its true in-game coordinates, with your own pins and notes.
Shops & services
The everyday stops you’ll use constantly:
- Ammu-Nation — guns, ammo and armor. Find the closest one before any mission; see the best weapons guide for what to actually buy.
- Mod shops (Los Santos Customs & specialists) — performance upgrades and customization. Worth knowing the nearest before a race.
- Clothing, barbers and tattoo parlors — cosmetics and disguises (the Gruppe Sechs outfit shops matter for heist approaches).
All of them are filterable on the locations map. Common spots already on your in-game map (ATMs, gas, 24/7s) are hidden by default — untick “Hide common spots” to show them.
Businesses & properties
This is where the map earns its keep: every income property is plotted with its price and what it earns, linked straight to the profit calculator. Two of the most important to locate early:
To decide what to buy (not just where it is), see best properties to buy and best businesses ranked, then model the payback in the business profit calculator.
Points of interest
The map also marks banks, hospitals, police and fire stations, and the landmarks worth knowing — useful for everything from planning an escape route to finding the nearest respawn. Hospitals and police stations in particular are worth a mental note before risky free-roam play.
Use the map
Open the locations map, filter to what you need, and drop your own pins and notes for spots you want to remember — a favourite sell-mission route, a quiet alley to lose the cops, or the businesses you’re saving up for. It’s the fastest way to stop wandering Los Santos and start moving with purpose.
Hunting single-player collectibles instead? That’s a different map — see the GTA V collectibles guide.
