Everything you need to decide whether — and how — to pre-order GTA VI, with no countdown-site fluff.
Release date
GTA VI launches Thursday, November 19, 2026. Take-Two has reaffirmed the date twice since setting it — at its May 2026 earnings call, and again in a July 17, 2026 shareholder letter from CEO Strauss Zelnick — and says it won’t slip again. For context, it’s the third date the game has held — it was originally targeted for a 2025 window, moved to May 26 2026, then to November — so the studio has strong incentive to hold it this time. A one-week preload is expected around November 12.
Platforms — and the PC question
At launch, GTA VI is console-only: PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC version at launch, and Rockstar has not announced one.
Will it come to PC? Almost certainly — but later. GTA V’s PC port arrived roughly 18 months after consoles, so a 2027–2028 PC release is a reasonable expectation. That timing is analyst speculation, not confirmed, so treat any specific “GTA VI PC date” you see elsewhere with caution. We’ll update this section the moment Rockstar says anything official.
Editions & price
Pre-orders are open now (since June 25, 2026). There are two editions:
- Standard Edition — $79.99. The base game.
- Ultimate Edition — $99.99. Adds premium vehicles, exclusive weapons, custom apparel and in-game extras (all single-player content). Digital pre-orders also include a one-month GTA+ trial.
Pre-ordering before launch grants the Vintage Vice City Pack. No physical Collector’s Edition has been announced (a “$199.99 collector’s tier” doing the rounds is unconfirmed).
Where to pre-order
You can pre-order on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and at major retailers. Our GTA VI hub has the current pre-order links (Amazon, as an affiliate — we earn a small commission at no cost to you, which keeps freemode ad-free).
