Grand Theft Auto VI is the most anticipated game ever made — and also the most rumored. Anything unofficial elsewhere on the site is clearly tagged Leaked, Reported or Rumored with a source, so you always know how solid a claim is.
The confirmed essentials
- Release date: November 19, 2026. Reaffirmed by Take-Two in May 2026 — it won’t move again. (It slipped twice to get here: from a 2025 window, to May 2026, to November.)
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 (incl. PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC version at launch, and Rockstar hasn’t dated one.
- Editions & pre-orders: Pre-orders are open now. Standard $79.99, Ultimate $99.99 (premium vehicles, exclusive weapons, apparel and in-game extras). Pre-order before launch for the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Mode: GTA VI is a single-player experience at launch — there’s no GTA Online at release, and Rockstar hasn’t announced one. (We’ll re-verify this against the live store listing before treating it as final.)
The setting: Vice City, in the state of Leonida
GTA VI returns to Vice City — Rockstar’s take on Miami — inside the wider state of Leonida, a modern reimagining of Florida. Six regions are officially confirmed:
- Vice City — the neon metropolis at the map’s core
- Leonida Keys — a tropical archipelago (the Florida Keys)
- Grassrivers — flooded wetlands and airboats (the Everglades)
- Mount Kalaga National Park — forested northern wilderness
- Port Gellhorn — a faded vacation town in decline
- Ambrosia — an inland industrial town by Lake Leonida

The protagonists and cast
For the first time, a mainline GTA has dual protagonists you can switch between: Lucia Caminos — the series’ first female lead — and Jason Duval, in a Bonnie-and-Clyde story across Leonida. Confirmed supporting characters include Boobie Ike, Cal Hampton, Dre’Quan Priest, Brian Heder, Raul Bautista and the social-media rap duo Real Dimez. (Voice actors have not been officially announced — names circulating online are unconfirmed.)

Trailers
Two official trailers have been released — Trailer 1 (December 2023) and the record-breaking Trailer 2 (May 2025). There is no gameplay trailer yet; Rockstar’s full marketing campaign is only now ramping up, so expect more reveals before November.
